Description
Save money with this super saver package that includes 2 full day tours to 4 top visited and historical nearby cities outside of the capital: Cholula and Puebla on the first day, and Cuernavaca and Taxco on the second day.

Day 1: Cholula and Puebla

You will be picked up at your meeting point in Mexico for a full day tour to the historical cities of Cholula and Puebla, located just two hours from Mexico City. Cross the mountains and enjoy breathtaking views and the beautiful scenery of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes along the way.

Upon arrival in Cholula, you will discover the largest pyramidal base in the world. The Great Pyramid of Cholula, which has a height of 64 meters and 400 meters on each side of its base being thus twice as large as that of Cheops in Egypt.

There, you will also be amazed by the hundreds of churches, and be able to visit the Church of St. Mary of Tonazintla, an impressive indigenous-Baroque building, notable for its interior decorated in gold and wealth of its elements.

Next, we will head to the city of Puebla, located no more than 15 minutes drive from Cholula. There you will enjoy a tasty lunch (not included). The gastronomic variety in the so called "City of Angels" is rich, so you can choose from the simple and traditional "semita" (mexican bread), to the unique "mole poblano" (mexican sauce made with chili peppers and chocolate).

Then, you will enjoy a walking tour through the beautiful historic center which was listed as a World Heritage Centre by UNESCO, and admire the fine 16th and 18th centuries building architecture, including the Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral and Church of Santo Domingo.

Finally, before getting dropped-off at your hotel, you will stroll through the handicraft market, which features typical artworks such as traditional talavera figurines, as well as delicious sweets like sweet potatoes prepared in different flavors.

At the end of the day, you will be dropped-off in Mexico City at the same location as in the morning.

Day 2 : Cuernavaca and Taxco

You will be picked up at your meeting point in Mexico for a trip out of Mexico City to admire 2 more unique colonial towns: Cuernavaca and Taxco.

Take a scenic drive to Cuernavaca, the capital and the largest city of the state of Morelos, also known as "The City of the Eternal Spring" thanks to its warm climate. There, you will discover the city center, full of historical buildings. Visit the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary of Cuernavaca, dating from the 16th century and one of the oldest cathedrals in the country. You will also see the Palace of Cortés and the huge Statue of José Maria Morelo, military insurgent and Mexican patriot.

Then, you will drive to Taxco, a colonial city with years of history. It is nestled on a hillside with winding cobblestone streets, tile roofed buildings, cozy squares and a strong Old World ambiance that has survived through hundreds of years.

Visit the center of Taxco and also one of Mexico's grandest cathedrals: Santa Prisca, a great example of Spanish architecture. It was built in 1759 by French immigrant Jose de la Borda with pink stones and twin towers whose details will leave you speechless.

Finally, as the city is known worldwide for its quality silver mines and many traditional shops, you will get the opportunity to visit a silver workshop and buy art pieces from local artisans.

At the end of the day, you will be dropped-off in Mexico City at the same location as in the morning.
